Be good Ambassadors of Jesus Christ - Rev. Larbi

The Reverend Professor Emmanuel Kingsley Larbi, an Associate Pastor of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), at Atomic, has urged Christians to intensify their evangelism from their own communities and workplaces to the world.

“We must tell the message of Christ everywhere, whether in season or out of season,” he said and quoted Isaiah 53:10-12, which foretold the suffering and death of Jesus Christ as a perfect sacrifice to atone for the sins of humankind, and to reconcile the world to the Almighty God, to explain the relevance of the evangelism.

Rev. Larbi, was delivering the Message of Inspiration at the “Good Friday” Service at the Easter Convention of the Church, which brought together all the English Assemblies in the Madina Area, to discuss the broader theme: “What did the Lord Tell You?” as captured in 1 Samuel 3:17a.

He said the theme for the Convention raised serious questions and inspired deeper thoughts about the stewardship of all Christians as permanent Ambassadors of Jesus Christ, who were expected to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and the need for people to remain righteous, obedient, and eschew sin.

Rev. Larbi said the season of Easter, therefore, presented a great opportunity for Christians to reflect upon the love of God and the reconciliation that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ brought to humanity, and for believers to remain faithful, obedient and diligent in working out their own salvation and helping others to follow.

According to him, the challenges of the current times was that Christians now sought after everything else, except God’s Kingdom, because he said, “we are mixing our priorities and refusing to obey His Word.”

He encouraged Christians to draw a clear line between their worldly businesses, and their faith and learn to reconcile their jobs with God’s work for maximum returns.

“Our businesses must be seen as tools for our evangelism and avenues for justice, as well as knowledge for destroying the works of the devil,” he said.

He also urged Christians to build their capacities through the knowledge of the Word of God, supporting those in need, fighting against all social injustices and dehumanising activities in order to reconcile all the citizenry in unity and also with God, while ensuring national development.

Elder Evan Ayim, the Presiding Elder of PIWC, Atomic, led the congregation to offer prayers for God’s revival of His Church and the country.
