Be disciplined,Christians urged

Reverend Charles Boamah Asante, district pastor of Sunyani Central Church of Pentecost has advised Christians to be obedient and disciplined in all their endeavours.

He gave the advice at a church service to climax a week-long celebration of the women’s and children’s ministries of the church in Sunyani at the weekend.

The two ministries celebrated the week as part of the church’s activities to reflect on their achievements and way forward towards their sustained growth and development, as well as the church as a whole.

Speaking on the theme “disciple to make disciples for Christ”, taken from Matthew 28:18, Rev. Asante said obedience was key in discipleship as it ensured effective learning from the leader.

He said discipleship entailed learning from a master or a leader and called on Christians to obey the word of God to enable them to be good disciples for Christ.

All that Christians can ever desire in life is in Christ, Rev. Asante said, noting that Christians today were being defrauded by false prophets and charlatans due to their disobedience to the word of God.

“God is able to provide exceedingly and abundantly more than what we think or ask for”, the district pastor added.

He urged parents to be responsible towards the upkeep and education of their children, stressing that good and proper parenting was a determinant of who the children would be in future.

“House helps are to assist and not to be responsible for the upbringing and training of our children”, Rev. Asante said and advised children to be obedient and respectful to their adults.

“That is the first commandment with a promise” he added.**
