'Be agents of moral values, justice and environmental stewardship' – Rev. Asieni to religious organizations

The Synod Moderator of Meridian Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, Rev. Samuel Senanu Asieni, has urged faith organizations to serve as stewards in the promotion of moral values, justice and a thriving Ghanaian ecosystem.

Rev. Asieni made these statements while addressing participants at the official opening of the E.P Church, Ghana Meridian Presbytery Men’s Fellowship 6th Annual Delegates’ Conference held at Adenta in Accra.

The theme for the two-day conference was “Care for God’s creation – the role of Christian men as agents of change”.

Rev. Asieni emphasized the need for people serving in the leadership of the Christian faith institutions to bear fruits worthy as faithful Disciples of God, required to shape the moral fibre of citizens for the enhancement of the desired societal discipline.

“Let us rise to our religious responsibility in serving as crusaders and key actors in ensuring a positive behavioral change against moral decadence, injustice and devastation of our ecosystem,” he lamented.

He also urged members of the men’s fellowship to “rise as agents of change in the churches and the nation”, and be guided by the virtues of integrity, righteousness and dedication to their stewardship, devoid of greed and selfish ambition.

A Bible Translation Consultant, Rev. Prof. Gilbert Ansre called for the development of the youth through vigorous evangelization underpinning the attributes of Presbyterian fundamentalism and qualitative Christian faith values for the spiritual growth of the Church.

The Chairman of Celltel Group of Companies and Kludjeson International Limited, Dr. Prince Kofi Kludjeson underscored the significance of churches in grooming children with Christian family values, formal education and entrepreneurial skills development, noting that the Church is pivotal in the empowerment and socio-economic growth local communities.

The National President of the E.P Church Men’s Fellowship, Mr. Foster Agotse also appealed to head pastors of various congregations to demonstrate their commitment to the growth of men’s fellowship to serve as a reputable and robust entity in propelling the growth of the Church.



Meanwhile, delegates at the conference have voted to retain three executive members of the Meridian Presbytery Men’s Fellowship for another three-year tenure.

They included Messrs. Samuel Akoetey as the President, Raymond Atadze as Vice President and Wisdom Togoh as Secretary.
