‘Arrest Director General of GES’-Teachers demand

Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Mr. Jacob Korhave Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Mr. Jacob Korhave

Affected teachers whose salaries are in arrears for more than a year, want the Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Mr. Jacob Korhave arrested and prosecuted for superintending over ‘fake certificates’ in the service.

The angry teachers indicate that the claims by Mr. Jacob Korhave that some teachers are using ‘fake certificates’ is an indication he is not on top of his job and must immediately be arrested by the police after being shown the exit.

Spokesperson of the teachers Samuel Clinton Boateng on the Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Prince MInkah, questioned how the said teachers got upgraded if indeed it is true they were in possession of fake certificates.

He accused the GES boss of peddling falsehood to satisfy his employers warning that the affected teachers will not kowtow to his whims and caprices.

“It is absolute falsehood. I don’t know why he made such claims. UCC is the only institution authorized to give certificates after one goes through the prescribed courses of education at the various colleges of education in the country. So the claim that some teachers are using fake certificates is untrue”, he said

His comments he noted, is an indictment on the teaching profession indicating that Mr. Jacob Korhave is only using the alleged fake certificate issue to further delay in the release of salaries of the affected teachers threatening to take him on with their lawyers.

He further warned that if their grievances are not met within a particular period, they will be compelled to hit the streets in protest and crown it all with a strike action.
