Akropong-Asante Presbyterian Church celebrates 25th Anniversary

Akropong (Ash), March 21, The Reverend Alex Adu Sekyere, Bantama District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has warned Christians against selfishness and placing too much value on material wealth.

"We need to worship the creator first and foremost before we consider wealth, which is just transient, and the honour of men," he added.

The man of God said Christians needed to repent of their sins and lead Holy Spirit-led lives to inherit the Kingdom of God. Reverend Sekyere was preaching a sermon at the 25th Anniversary celebration of Asante Akropong Presbyterian Church, near Nkwawie in the Ashanti region.

"Empowered by the Holy Spirit," was the theme.

The Bantama District Minister reminded Christians to be wary of false doctrines being peddled by self-seeking pastors and strive to study the bible to avoid being deceived charlatans.

He urged the congregation to keep studying God's word to make sure they also do not impart wrong teachings to others. Twenty members of the church received certificates for their devotion, commitment and hard work, which had ensured the growth and expansion of the church.
