A priest and five deacons ordained in Kumasi

Kumasi, May 18, GNA - Right Reverend Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Anglican Bishop of Kumasi on Sunday asked leaders of the church to work hard to promote unity, peace and love among all Christians, especially among those whom they served. He said they should pray incessantly to become good servants of God, their congregation and not hesitate to extend their Pastoral work to rural communities. Rt-Rev. Yinka Sarfo made the call during the ordination of Reverend Charles Osei-Poku into Priesthood and five others to Diaconate in Anglican Diocese of Kumasi. They were, Simon Pius Frimpong, Kenneth Korsah, John Danso Brefo, Ishmael Lartey and Prince Osei Yeboah. Rev. Canon Dr. Joseph Osei, Retreat Coordinator and Preacher of the Church, in a sermon at the Cathedral Church of Saint Cyprian the Martyr in Kumasi, advised them and those who intended to enter the Pastoral work to make conscious efforts to present themselves as people approved by God.

He urged them to work steadfastly in truth and have good functional relations with the people they were going to serve, no matter their social status or ethnicity. Rev. Dr. Osei told them to be educators, transformers and reformers to bring total spiritual and physical change in the lives of their congregation. "You must try to equip and edify the church and the congregation to the Glory of God," he added.
