Kabiru Moro scored a decisive late goal for Medeama SC to give them a deserved 1-0 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak.
The defeat happens to be the third of the campaign for the Phobians.
Hearts played the match at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast following the closure of the Accra Stadium.
The defeat dents Hearts' hopes of piling the pressure on rivals, Asante Kotoko who lead the standings. The loss further heightens the tension in their camp as unhappy fans are still agitating over the dismissal of David Duncan.
In the other top liner, League leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko extended their lead to four points after beating city rivals King Faisal 3-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. Faisal conceded an own goal in the first half before striker Seidu Bancey bagged a brace to seal the win.
In Bechem, home side Bechem United posted a 3-2 victory over Heart of Lions. Toufiq Sani and Samuel Yeboah grabbed two goals apiece for either side before Emmanuel Asante scored to wrap up victory for Bechem.
In others fixtures, Hasaacas defeated Liberty Professionals 2-1 at the Essipong Stadium. Liberty drew first blood through an own goal in the first half. But the home side soon found their rhythm and leveled the scores through Roger Lamptey before Joseph Agyemang scored late on in the game to hand Hasaacas a deserved victory.
Inter Allies continued their good start to the week with a comfortable 2-0 win over AshantiGold at the Tema Park.
At the Bekwai Park New Edubaise United thumped Amidaus professionals 4-0 to move to ninth on the table.
