Dwarfs reap goal of harvest

Cape Coast, March 9, GNA - Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs brought back smiles to the faces of their supporters when they whipped Winneba Windy Professionals 5-0 in their Division One League Match played at the Robert Mensah stadium , Cape Coast at the week-end.

Dwarfs indicated their determination to revenge the first round 1-0 defeat to Professionals, as they banged in four goals before the end of the first half.

Mustopha Douglas, their play maker, who set the ball rolling, scored the opener in the 25th minute after beating two defenders on the run. Windy Professionals took over the attack in the 30th minute but their hopes of levelling up the scores were dashed when midfielder, Bismark Asiedu increased the tally to two in the 31st minute. Patrick Cole, who was the man of the match, raised the tally to three in the 35th minute while veteran Gordon Abole made it 4-0 with a free kick in the 44th minute.

Both sides resumed the second half with greater determination but it was still Dwarfs who had the edge in the attack and went ahead to put the icing on cake through Richard Nyanful in the 62nd minute to bring the final scores to 5-0.

Results of other matches were Feyenoored beat Sekondi Metro 2-1, Tarkwa Medeama spanked All Blacks 3-1 while Tarkwa United pipped Vipers 1-0. 09 March 10
