Obuasi, Dec. 27, GNA - Obuasi Ashgold and Accra Hearts of Oak settled for a scoreless drawn game in their Week 12 Glo Premier League encounter at the Len Clay sports stadium at Obuasi on Sunday.
It was Ashgold who looked the hungrier side in their attempt to carry the day as they resorted to an all attacking game right from the onset but they failed to make use of their attacking superiority into goals. Hearts gradually warmed themselves into the game but their strikers made up of Eric Gawu, Douglas Nkrumah and Michael Otoo also failed to convert the chances that came their way to end the first half.
Both sides resumed the second half full of fight with Ashgold's substitute Theophilus Anobah and Addoquaye Addo' attempts at goal either saved by Hearts goalie Laud Quartey, who had a good day or they shot wide. Hearts again came into the picture in the dying minutes but Otoo and Nkrumah messed up with some clear chances as they were found wanting for the final torch into the net.
Ashgold launched another attack during the four minutes of added on time but they could also not find the net until Berekum based referee Charles Nii Tagoe brought proceedings to an end. In another League match at the Anane Boateng stadium at Abrankese, League leaders Kessben FC beat Real Tamale United (RTU) 2-0 through goals scored by Bismark Ian and an own goal scored by RTU's central defender Daniel Coleman all during the first half.
