The Ghana Premier League wrap

Heart of Lions moved to the top of the Glo Premier League table when they beat rock-bottom Sekondi Hasaacas 1-0 on Sunday.

A goal by midfielder Anars Mohammed was enough to ensure that the Lions secured all three points.

Defending champions, Asante Kotoko slipped down to fifth in the table when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Premier League new boys Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors opened the scoring when they were awarded a penalty-kick, which Francis Coffie made no mistake converted.

But Chelsea refused to give up and they were rewarded for their efforts when Yaw Alexander netted to give his side a share of the spoils.

Hearts of Oak moved level on points with Heart of Lions when they triumphed 2-0 over Gamba All Blacks at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.

Obed Ansah opened the scoring for the Phobians and Samuel Affum wrapped up the three points late on.

Tema Youth's 2-1 win over Sporting Mirren at the Tema Park meant that they too move onto 13 points at the top of the table, but trail leaders Heart of Lions on goal difference.

A brace by Ekow Benson secured a comfortable victory for the Tema side despite George Ankamah pulling back a late consolation goal for the visitors.

Wa All Stars unbeaten run finally came to an end when they narrowly lost 1-0 to Real Tamale United at the Tamale Sports Stadium courtesy of a Mohammed Fatau goal.

Liberty Professionals and Eleven Wise played out to a 2-2 draw at the Sekondi Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Eleven Wise took a two-goal lead thanks to goals from Wilfred Dormon and Eric Owusu, but second-half goals from Mawuli Soglo and Yakubu Seidu gave the visitors a point.

A Mutalabi Mohammed goal gave Berekum Arsenals a 1-0 win over AshantiGold, which extends their unbeaten run at the Golden City Parko to 50 games stretching back to the 2004 season.

Kessben FC and King Faisal played out a goalless draw at Abrankese Park.
