Sekondi Hasaacas pip King Faisal

Sekondi, Dec. 3, GNA - Sekondi Hasaacas on Sunday beat visiting King Faisal 1-0 in the Onetouch Premier League match at Sekondi Gyandu Park.

After kick-off, it was Hasaacas who opened attack and did not give King Faisal room to settle down in the early stages of the game. King Faisal gradually warmed themselves into the game taking advantage of loopholes in the game plan of the home side as they pressured them for most parts of the game but failed to capitalise on their advantage. The pattern of the game changed in favour of Hasaacas and in the 20th minute Frederick Quayson made a move to score the lone goal for his side.

Hasaacas kept up the pressure, but the opponents who seemed unduanted by the goal, stood firm as they continued to push Hasaacas from to goal area to defend their lean goal.

As the match progressed, King Faisal rather resorted to defensive play to end the first half with two of their players, Razak Yakubu being shown the red card in the 35th minute with Owusu Agyeman receiving the yellow card in the 40th minute.

On resumption of the second half, King Faisal stepped up their efforts in search of an equalizer, which failed to materialize as Hasaacas counter attacked.

King Faisal were so determined to find the net but messed up their chances as they attackers misdirected their kicks missing several scoring chances.

Both sides put up impressive performance to the end of the match.

At the Ho Sports stadium, Ablade Morgan's 75th minute spot kick powered Accra Hearts of Oak to beat Power FC 1-0 in their One-Touch Premier League encounter.

The lone goal came as a consolation for supporters of Hearts after Morgan and Francis Bossman missed several chances including Morgan's 53rd minute free kick, which hit the side bar and his 63rd lowly placed effort which was ruled for off side by Class One referee T.Y Aggrey. Power played a determined game winning most of the 50-50 balls but failed to net the ball.

In the 20th minute, Power's Alex Awuah tested the flexibility of Laud Quartey in post for Hearts and the keeper responded beautifully by saving a goal bound ball.

The two teams occasionally created chances at each other's goalmouth but it was keeper Quartey who was most of the time active as he easily dealt with the long-range shots fired by the Power strikers. After the recess, both team came into the game strongly making a number of changes to outwit each other but kept their supporters who were hungry for goals to sit on tender-hooks until the 75th minute when a Power defender handled the ball that resulted in the award of the spot kick.

In the 77th minute Laud Quartey denied Power the equalizer when he gallantly grasped Ben Addo's power-driven shot that went through a forest of legs.

Power's Samuel Arthur was earlier sent off in the 73rd minute for hard tackle.
