Preview: Hearts, Kotoko face pre-X'mas test

Even before Christmas comes, Premier League Clubs will be looking to improve their lot before the festive period really gets underway.

The Glo Premier League continues this weekend with match-day-12 fixtures as the chase for top places and the struggle to beat the drop raises the competitive bar.

Only one game comes off on Saturday as AshantiGold, after sacking coach Yaw Acheampong target recovery when they travel to the Gyamfi Park to meet rivals, New Edubiase in the Adansi derby.

The pain of losing back-to-back will pile the pressure on Hearts of Oak who welcome leaders, Aduana Stars to the Accra Sports Stadium.

With a host of player clear-outs sanctioned by David Duncan, the Phobians will be trying to justify their coach's faith and give their him a far better performance than the results showed from their last two games.

Reigning Ghana champions, Asante Kotoko are still unbeaten but are not convincing this term. They travel to the Golden City Park in the weekend's top-liner against Berekum Chelsea.

After their late revival against Wa All Stars in Kumasi where they scored three times in five minutes to win 3-1, the Porcupine Warriors' unbeaten run in eleven games makes them hard to beat but they could crumble before a star-studded Chelsea side, who are sitting third on the table.

Medeama, who have fallen two points off the top will want to close the gap as they have to contest relegation threatened Berekum Arsenals for all three points at their favourite T&A Park.

Prof. E.K. Mintah's second-placed Ebusua Dwarfs have enjoyed a good run of form but they are in for tricky battle when Amidaus Professionals arrive at the Robert Mensah Stadium.

Liberty Professionals are chasing a top-four place but a trip to the Upper West Region where they clash with All Stars in Wa could be a difficult task for George Lamptey's Dansoman-side.

At the Tema Stadium, Tema Youth, who were this week hit with a fine totaling GH¢13,000 for misconduct by their officials will be seeking to put the disciplinary matters on one side and tackle Heart of Lions for the three points.

The Baba Yara Stadium will complete an intriguing fixture list when King Faisal play bottom team, Real Tamale United, who are still winless.
