Premier League Resumes

The Onetouch premier League bounces back this weekend after a break for the three-week biennial soccer fiesta hosted by Ghana; the 26th Africa Cup of Nations.

And indications are that a replication of fine soccer as exhibited by the 16 countries in the just-ended soccer showpiece is highly anticipated.

Before the break, the Onetouch league had gathered momentum with Asante Kotoko occupying the top spot with Kpando Heart of Lions closely at their heels, with two points separating them

The resumption of the league is expected to churn out one of the best games considering the fact that the combatants engaged in one friendly game or the other during the break.

At the Baba Yara Stadium, competition leaders Kotoko and Tema Youth will be expected to stage a classic clash in a game likely to end in a stalemate.

The visitors have been tough customers for Kotoko since joining the elite division. The last time they met at the Tema Park, it took a heavy security presence to escort Kotoko from the Park when they lost 0-2, necessitating their fans to hold the team to a 45minutes hostage.

Of course, a lot of water has passed under the bridge since the two sides met. Kotoko was then under Turkish Coach, Telat Ozum , whose last days with the team was hellish, losing five in row.

The pendulum of fortune seem to be swinging in Kotoko's this season with Coach Bashiru Hayford steering the club's technical affairs. Most likely, top scorer Eric Bekoe, who have hit the back of the net nine times from ten games with be expected to partner burly Kwabena Yaro in attack.

Their opponents on the other hand, appear confident despite their not-too-impressive form this season will fly on the wings of their new Coach's expertise Isaac Opeele Aboagye to return with good results.

In other games, RTU will host badly bruised Hearts of Oak who suffered shipwreck in their Champions League campaign three days ago in Gabon at the newly-constructed Tamale Stadium, while Heart of Lions travel to Brekum to face Arsenals.

In Wa, Wa All Stars will stay home and face Liberty Professionals, with Hasaacas trekking down south to play struggling Great Olympics at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

Fresh from Niger Ashgold will host Gamba All Blacks at the Len Clay Stadium, while Zaytuna will play Kessben FC at the El-Wak Stadium.
