Obuasi, June 17, GNA - Obuasi Ashgold managed a hard fought 2-1

victory over visiting Swedru All Blacks in their mid-week Glo Premier League match at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports stadium. The match was quite balanced with the two sides squandering some clear chances in the scoreless first half.

The two teams however opened up fire in the second half in an attempt to break the deadlock but it was Ashgold who got the upper hand when they awarded a penalty in the 69th minute when Frank Adomako was fouled in the box which enterprising Daniel Asamoah made sure he converted for the match opener.

Undaunted by the goal, All Blacks accepted the challenge and managed to get the equalizer in the 74th minute through Bismark Idan. Ashgold's George Appiah was however on target to secure the three maximum for the 'Miners' when he connected home from a goal-mouth melee in the 86th minute to seal the doom of the visitors. 17 June 09
