New Edubaise halts AshGold unbeaten run

AshantiGold could not extend their invincibility record beyond match day 9 in the Ghana Premier League as they lost Sunday’s game to New Edubaise United on a 2-0 scoreline.

Prior to the week 10 fixtures, the Miners were on record as the only unbeaten side in the Ghanaian top-flight this season.

But that impressive run never intimidated New Edubaise who scored in each half of the match to collect all three points.

Samed Ibrahim got the first goal for the homeside before Bright Odoom sealed the victory in the dying embers of the game.

The away team blew their chance after failing to convert a penalty in the first half.

The win came in handy for Edubaise as they moved a few steps away from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Ashgold have lost their second spot to Accra Hearts of Oak as they prepare for a tough match against Kumasi Asante Kotoko next week.
