Kotoko thrash Great Olympics 5-1

Kumasi, May 12, GNA - Fabulous Kumasi Asante Kotoko played a good game to thrash Accra Great Olympics 5-1 to end this year's Glo Premier League match in their match at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi on Wednesday. Outside Edward Affum opened the scores for Kotoko in the 11th minute when he connected home a short pass from enterprising Haruna Ganiyu. With the heat on the visitors, Kwadwo Poku hit the post with a powerful shot in the 43rd minute before Affum scored his second goal in the 44th minute to end the half.

Olympics came out strongly in the second half and reduced the tally in the 73rd minute through Emmanuel Lartey in a goal mouth melee. In the 64th minute, Olympics Daniel Asamoah was given the marching off order by referee William Agbovie for a second bookable offence. Kotoko who were determined to end the League on a fine note, saw Daniel Nii Adjei scoring two goals in the 75th and 80th minutes before substitute Samad Oppong sealing the doom of the visitors two minutes in time added on to bring the final score to 5-1 in favour of the Porcupine Warriors.
