Kotoko certain to win league - Bashiru Hayford

Kumasi, March 11, GNA - Bashiru Hayford, Head Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club, has said that his team was on course to win this year's onetouch Premier League title.

He described the performance of his players so far as satisfactory and attributed the team's success to hard work, discipline and determination, saying those elements had enabled them to occupy the top spot on the league table.

Speaking to newsmen in Kumasi on Monday, Coach Hayford commended the playing body, particularly, for the sterling performance they put up against Accra Hearts of Oak in their outstanding match in Accra on Sunday.

"My players played to the tactical discipline and I think the 0-0 drawn game was a true reflection of what transpired on the field of play," he said.

The Kotoko Head Coach, however, gave the assurance that his team would step up their efforts and beat the Phobians in the second round of the league in Kumasi. Touching on their impending match against Berekum Arsenal to be played at Berekum on Wednesday, Coach Hayford urged the supporters to rally solidly behind Kotoko to enable them to defeat the Berekum lads so as to keep their dream on course.

"We are going into this match and the remaining matches with all the seriousness they deserve and will make sure that we do not underrate any team," he noted.
