Heart of Lions keep league dream on course

Kumasi, June 18, GNA - Kpando Heart of Lions kept their dream of playing in this year's CAF Champions League on course when they recorded a pulsating 2-2 drawn game against Kumasi-based King Faisal Babies in their mid-week 26th Week Onetouch Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Dominic Adiyiah opened the scoring for the visitors when the game was barely four minutes old with a powerful header from Osei Banahene's cross but Faisal leveled up six minutes later in a similar style when Awudu Abubakar connected home Abdul Samad Oppong's cross. The home side after the equalizer stepped up their game with the intension of taking the lead but lack of precision on the part of their attackers which revolved around Abubakar, Basit Abraham and Samad Oppong denied them of the needed goals to end the first half.

On resumption, Faisal changed their strategy and pushed more men forward which yielded the needed result as Basit capitalized on a defensive blunder in the opponent's goal area to score his side's second goal in the 51st minute to give his side the leader. Lions accepted the challenge and fought hard with some crisp passes in midfield and good inter-positional display which paid off for them in the 56th minute with Adiyiah again on target to get the equalizer when he again headed home a cross from George Yamoah.
