GPL: Kotoko open 10-point gap

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have opened a 10-point gap on the log of the First Capital Plus Premier League after beating Ebusua Dwarfs 2-1 on Sunday.

Abdul Aziz Yusif opened the scoring in the 18th minute with David SmallBoy Korbah doubling it seven minutes later.

After the interval, Richard Gadze reduced the deficit of Dwarfs in the 62nd minute and that remained the only goal in the second half ending the game 2-1 in favour of the Ghana league champions. The Porcupine Warriors have opened a 10-point gap to secure their dominance at the apex with 40 points.

Hearts of Oak are trailing with 30 points followed by Hearts of Lions who are three points shy of that of the Phobians.

In the other two games that were cleared on Sunday, under pressure Inter Allies fought hard to share the spoils with Africa campaigners Medeama after a 2-2 draw game. The league debutants continue rooted at the bottom of the 16-team league. Karim and Prosper Kassim got Allies’ goals while Victory Ayire and Kwame Boahen rescued Medeama.

Elsewhere, Berekum Chelsea beat Ashantigold 2-1. Gabriel Ayala and Benjamin Boateng got their names on the score sheet for the Blues as Under-20 defender Lawrence Lartey got the consolation of the Miners.
