Feyenoord defeated Heart of Lions

Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord defeated Kpando Heart of Lions 1-0 in their Onetouch Premier League match played at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The gaol came through a spot-kick in the 27th minute when Dominic Adiyiah was brought down in the penalty box by Lions Asare Boateng. Adiyiah elected himself for the kick and easily converted the kick to register the only goal of the match.

In the 12th minute, Lions Wisdom Agblexo was shown the red-card for a second bookable offence against Feyenoord's Harrison Afful. An early heavy downpour made ball control difficult for the two teams as they found it dfficult to put their acts together.

Abubakar Mahadi of Feyenoord was the worst offednder for his side as he squandered three golden opportunities that came his way in the 14th, 16th and 20th minutes respectively.

Emmanuel Banahene of Lions failed to convert a penalty awarded them in the 63rd minute by Referee Sumaila Ibrahim when Afful was brought down in the box by Sulemana Ibrahim and was quickly substituted. Mohammed Iddrisu, Sulemana Ibrahim and Banahene of Lions gave the defence of Feyenoord a tough time with Jordan Opoku, Godfred Ofosu and Theoplilus Appo doing extra work in search of the equaliser. In the 71st minute, Haruna Ganisu who had only keeper Stephen Aholy of Lions to beat but failed to utilise the chance.

Goalkeeper Dauda Jawara of Feyenoord was voted the best player of the match.
