Faisal ready to face the wrath of Kessben

Kumasi, Jan. 8, GNA - Kumasi-based King Faisal Babies will on Sunday, January 11 seek to continue with their winning streak as they pitch their strength against Kessben F/C in the sixth week Glo Premier League encounter at the Anane Boateng Stadium near Kumasi. Faisal recorded their first victory last Sunday since the 2008/2009 League commenced when they beat visiting Berekum Arsenals 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi to push the Club to the 10th position on the league table following some series of disappointing performances in their earlier matches.

Kessben on the other hand lost their last match against Gamba All Blacks 0-1 thus sinking to the 12th position on the 16-team league table.

The match between the two sides therefore promises to be an uncompromising one as has been the norm with most local derbies, but officials of Faisal insist that they have what it takes to snatch the three maximum points from the grab of Kessben when the two sides lock horns come this Sunday.

Mr Samuel Otoo, Communications Director of Faisal told the GNA Sports in Kumasi on Thursday that, "We are aware of the difficult task that confronts us especially in away matches however our players are determined to overcome the challenges".

He cited the return of British expatriate Coach, Steve Polack and the increment of the winning bonus of the players by the management as some of the factors that would go to the advantage of the team as they are fully motivated now.

Coach Polack is expected to take over from stop-gap coach Rashid Iddi when they face Kessben on Sunday after management agreed on a new contract with the coach whose initial one-year contract with the Club expired last year.

Mr Otoo urged all Faisal supporters and sympathisers to endeavour to troop to the Anane Boateng Stadium to cheer the Club to victory to help consolidate its stay in the premiership. 08 Jan. 09
