Kumasi, Oct. 26, GNA - Kumasi King Faisal drew 1-1 with visiting Okwawu United in their 27-week GT Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday.
Faisal, playing as though there was nothing at stake, allowed Okwawu to dominate a greater part of the game. Ben Wilson wasted a chance in the 13th minute when his shot was parried to corner by goalkeeper Emmanuel Doe and the resultant kick was wasted.
Let off the hook, Okwawu accelerated further but wasted a 19th-minute free kick outside the "box" which was taken by Kwame Antwi. With things being difficult for Faisal, the attackers resorted to hard tackles which defender Habib Mohammed paid dearly for. He was sent off in the 34th minute by referee C.K. Aggrey of Koforidua for a reckless tackle.
Ironically Faisal scored the opener in the 44th minute from a spot kick taken by Abubakar Yahuza after Eric Gawu had been brought down in the penalty area.
Okwawu's numerical strength was also reduced in 55th minute when Kwabena Adusei was shown the exit for a rough play. Okwawu brushed off the setback and put Faisal under severe pressure and deservedly got the needed equalizer in the 69th minute through Issaka Ibrahim who was adjudged the best player of the match.
