Faisal Hold Hearts

Ho, Sept. 23, GNA - Uncompromising Alhaji Grunsah's King Faisal held Accra Hearts of Oak to a goalless drawn game in their GT. Premier League encounter at the Ho Sports Stadium on Saturday. The game, which was balanced for most of the time, produced few scoring chances.

The formidable rear men of King Faisal pivoted on indefatigable Captain Iddrisu Yaya thwarted the efforts of Hearts' attackers on the few occasions that they got into the vital area of the visitors. Hearts came very close to scoring in the 11th minute but Eric Gawu failed to connect home the first corner kick taken by team mate Charles Vardis.

King Faisal lifted up their game in the dying minutes of the first half and Hearts' goalkeeper Suleman Abubakar had to pull some wonderful saves to keep the scores barren.

The two teams came back from the recess with more determination to get the opener. The Hearts Bench brought on two strikers, Reuben Senyo and Joe Lewis for Nii Larbi and Eric Nyarku but this did not change the pattern of the game.

King Faisal contained every attack and in the dying minute of the game gave Hearts scary moments, when Kwaku Essien fired a Ben Wilson tailor-measured pass at Hearts' goal post, which goalkeeper Suleman Abubakar fumbled with but managed to grab.
