Edubiase pip Hasaacas in Premier League match

Essipong, (W/R) April 4, GNA - Visiting New Edubiase on Sunday beat Sekondi Hasaacas 1-0 in their 25th Week Glo Premier League match played at the Sekondi Sports Stadium at Essipong.

The first half was a trying moment for both sides but although Hasaacas had more ball possession most of the time, it was the visitors who made threatening attacks upfront.

From the 20th minute, with the match gathering momentum, the visitors pressed for a goal but missed several scoring chances. Hasaacas responded with their own attacks but they were able to find the net until the end of the first half.

Back from recess, both sides resumed attacking vigorously but it was Edubiase who benefitted when in the 87th minute, Eric Fordjour scored the only goal in the match for Edubiase after skilfully outclassing the defence of Hasaacas in their goal area to send a kick that safely landed in the net. Last minute attempts by Hasaacas to get an equalizer proved a daunting task for them as the Edubiase lads tightened their defence to consolidate their win and not even more efforts in the dying minutes could give them a consolidation goal in the match they needed to win to save them from a glaring relegation.
