Chelsea topple Medeama

Berekum Chelsea have moved to the summit of the Ghana Premier League log sheet after drawing goalless with New Edubiase on Sunday.

The Blues have toppled the Mauves and Yellows who have been leading the table since the beginning of the year.

Medeama, who lost 2-0 to Liberty Professionals, have now slipped to third place with Asante Kotoko taking the second spot as the battle over who wins the 2012-13 domestic top flight season heats up.

Ebenezer Assifuah and Bawa Mumuni scored away for the Scientific Soccer Lads at the Tarkwa T&A Park.

The Super Clash between Hearts of Oak and Kotoko ended in a stalemate at the Accra Sports Stadium. Winful Cobbinah and Michael Helegbe scored for their respective sides in each half to share the spoils among the two oldest and biggest clubs in Ghana.

King Faisal surprised Heart of Lions with a 3-1 win at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as Abdullah Yashir grabbed a double before Edem Kodjo pulled one back for Lions. Sulley Mohammed consolidated their lead with the third goal.

Former league champions Aduana fell at Dormaa to Ashantigold after a 2-1 defeat. Yakubu Mohammed and Latif Mohammed got their names on the sheet for the Miners with Emmanuel Allan earning the consolation.

A resurgent Wa All Stars tasted their first defeat in the second round of the league after a 2-1 loss to Ebusua Dwarfs. The goals came through Richard Gadze and Asiwome Fumador for the winners whiles Paul De-Vries got the consolation.

Amidaus Professionals lost 1-0 to Berekum Arsenals. On Saturday Tema Youth beat RTU 2-0 to boost their chances of escaping relegation.
