Ashgold beat Wassaman 1-0

Obuasi, Jan. 11, GNA – Ashantigold beat bottom-club Wassaman United by a lone goal in the penultimate of the 2011/2012 Glo Premier League on Wednesday at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

The only goal of the match came in the 22nd minute through Aaron Amoah, when he connected home Aminu Mohammed’s cross.

Wassman fought back gallantly in the second half for the equalizer but their efforts were thwarted by the solid defence of Ashgold.

Amoah nearly increased the tally on 54 minutes but with only goalkeeper Michael Tetteh to beat, he surprisingly shot into his waiting hands.

The game from then became a ding-dong affair until referee Jonathan Tetteh brought proceedings to an end.
