Tema host Ikeja in 3rd Ghana-Nigeria golf tourney

The Tema Country Golf Club is the latest to stage another version of the Ghana-Nigeria sports rivalry when they host Ikeja Golf Club this Saturday and Sunday in the 3rd of what has now become an annual tournament between the two clubs. Tema won the first edition two years ago when it was played in the home of the Ghanaian club which was promptly responded to by Ikeja with victory via home advantage last year. “It’s the same format this year and we hope to beat them again. We are promising Ghanaians that we are going to lift high the flag of Ghana and make the nation proud,” Dr. Owusu-Baah, also Medical Director of Tema Women’s Hospital told www.sportsinghana.com. Accordingly, the Ikeja Golf Club entourage are expected in Ghana by Friday morning for which a reception to welcome them will take place at the Tema Country Golf Club on Friday evening. The tournament then tees off on Saturday September 15 and climaxes on Sunday September 16 with a very huge trophy at stake for the winners.

The tournament is sponsored by the host club with support from President of the club, Kofi Yim as well as club executive committee.
