Thompson wins Coca Cola Medal Golf

returned a net score of 64 to win this month's Coca Cola

Open Golf Championship played at the Celebrity Golf Course

at Sakumono near Tema on Saturday. Thompson who played 44 Back and 43 Front with a

handicap of 23 will be playing to a new handicap of 20. He was followed by Mac Norris with 65 net withe Joe

Ampofo placing third with 67 net. In the Ladies encounter, Vivienne Oberoi came first with 70

net, Esther Antwi took the second position with 71 net and

Aileen Conteh followed at the third position with 72 net. The one-day event which attracted 100 golfers was

sponsored by the Coca Cola Bottling Company of Ghana

Limited. Mr Pierre Coussey, Captain of the Celebrity Golf Club

thanked the company for their sponsorship and called on other

corporate bodies to help develop the sport.
