Tema Open Golf tees off

Tema, Oct.9, GNA- more than 50 professional golfers throughout the country on Thursday started battling each other for supremacy in this year's Tema Open Golf championship.
The amateurs are expected to assemble for their turn on Saturday, October 11, Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the Tema Golf Club told the GNA Sports at Tema.
He said the competition which began with the 72-Hole Professionals event will end on Sunday, October 12 with the presentation of prizes to winners.
Emos Korblah, the 1999 Professional Golfer of the year, Victor Brave-Mensah, Baba Akologo, all of Tema and John Dorman, J.J. Harvey, Anthony Amuzu, all of Achimota Golf Club have vowed to win the professionals event.
Six corporate bodies and organisations are sponsoring this year's Open which is expected to attract a full house of golfers from all parts of the country.
They are Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO), CAL Merchant Bank, Unique Trust Financial Services, Glotec Engineering, Hullbruy Limited, and KRK Financial Services.
The guest of honour is Mr Joe Aggrey, Deputy Minister of Youth Education and Sports.
