Tang and Harrington emerge winners of maiden Dalex Finance Golf Tourney

Accra, Dec. 14, GNA - Tang Hong and Briggete Harrington of Celebrity Golf Club, Sakumono, on Sunday returned impressive net scores to emerge winners in the male and female categories of the maiden Dalex Finance Invitational Golf tournament at the Celebrity Golf Club, near Tema. Tang finished first in the Men's category 'A' playing on a double handicap of 13 with net 68, while Frank Adu had 71 net to pick the second position, with Vincent Coffie trailing him with 72 net to third place. Sam Opoku won the men's category "B" event, while A.A. Amankwah had 68 net to beat Achimota Club's Rene Kwame on count back to place second, with Kwame picking the third position.

All the winners took home glittering trophies donated by the sponsors of the 18-hole scratch competition.

In the Ladies category, Harrington recorded a net score of 68 net to reign supreme with Margaret Andisson having 71 net score to win the second spot, whilst Suzie Abaloo Kumasah had 72 net to place third. The seniors nine-Hole event, saw Dr Myers Lamptey emerging tops with a net score of 27, while Mr Ackah finished second with 28 net. They also received trophies for their efforts.

Mathew Quarshie won the booby prize, while A.A. Amankwah took home the men's closest to the pin prize.

The Executive Chairman of Dalex Finance, Alex Brucks gave the assurance that the event will be annualized and congratulated the participants for making the maiden edition a huge success. The 18-Hole competition drew some of the capital's finest golfers from Achimota, Bok Nam Kim, Tema Country Golf Club and the Royal Country Golf Club. 14 Dec. 10
