Tamakloe wins Celebrity Medal Golf

Tema, May 25, GNA - 14-year-old Fui Tamakloe returned a net score of 68 to win the May Medal Open Golf Championship of the Celebrity Golf Club played at Sakumono, near Tema on Sunday. Tamakloe who played 40 Back and 40 Front with a Handicap of 12, will now play to a new Handicap of 11.

Li De Xiang who lost on count-back to the champion after both returned a net score of 68, took the second position while the third position went to Chung Hong with 69 net. Vivian Avornyo came first in the Ladies category with 67 net, with Beatrice Hampton taking the second position with 84 net. The one-day 18-Hole Medal Play opened to amateur golfers in the Greater Accra Region attracted 50 participants. Mr Martin Osei, Vice Captain of the Club appealed to the members to participate fully in the medal competitions to enable them sharpen their strokes for major competitions.

He was assisted by Mr Akwasi Opoku, Competition Secretary of the Club to present prizes to the winners.
