Salto Invitational Golf scheduled for Sept. 19

Tema, Sept. 15, GNA - The maiden Salto Invitational Golf Championship tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, September 19.

Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, General Manager of the Tema Country Golf Club who disclosed this to GNA Sports at Tema on Monday, said about 120 amateur golfers have been invited to participate in the one-day Shut Gun event.

He said the competition which would be sponsored by Aeon Company Limited, local representative of Salto, dealers in security locks, would be played according to the rules of the Ghana Golf Association and the local rules of the Tema Country Golf Club.

Mr Adablanu said Kweku Okyere, Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club, who is expected to lead his team, would fire the gun for the competition which is expected to begin at 0830 hours. Other competitors for the Tema team include Felix Owusu-Adjapong, William Asiedu-Yeboah, Alex Fiagomey and Paul Owusu-Baah. The Achimota Golf Club's team which would be led by Mike Aggrey, would include Michael Ben-George, Mike Ezan, Charles Tabi, Daniel List and Paul List. There would be prizes for the 'Nearest to the Pin on Hole 18' and 'Longest Drive on Hole 17'. 15 Sept. 09
