Peugeot Challenge Golf preliminaries at Tema on Saturday

More than 200 amateur golfers from the Greater Accra Region, would assemble at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, June 21 to vie for qualification to this year's finals of the Peugeot Challenge Golf Championship scheduled for Achimota from June 28 to 29.

Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of Tema Country Golf Club, told the GNA Sports on Tuesday that 30 golfers from the Men's section, 10 from the Ladies and two from the Juniors categories would be selected to join other winners from the Ashanti and Western regions to play in the finals.

Winners of the June 28-29 finals event, which is being sponsored by Prestige Motors Company Limited, would represent Ghana in the Peugeot Challenge Championship to be played in France later in the year.

Golfers from Achimota, Tema, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim are putting finishing touches to their strokes before the event, Mr Adablanu said.

Kamal Noshie and Suzie Abaloo, both of Achimota Golf Club represented Ghana last year in the France competition.

Mr Nich Adi-Dako, Managing Director of Prestige Motors Company Limited is expected to grace the occasion at Tema.
