Nukunu wins Tema Tigo Open Golf

Tema, Aug. 13, GNA - Paul Nukunu of the Celebrity Golf Club scored a gross score of 140 to win this year's Tema Tigo Open Golf Championship which ended at the Tema Country Golf Course on Sunday. Korblah Degbe came second with 147 gross followed by Robert Aziamakpor at third position with 149 gross with Enoch Alabi placing fourth with 151 gross while N.K. Kronzu came fifth with a gross score of 153.

In the Ladies event, Grace Afriyie placed first with 156 gross followed by Veteran Mona Captan at second position with 166 gross while Valentina Manteaw placed third with 168 gross. The Youth category was won by Van List with 57 net followed by Syeed Junior placed second with 61 net with Charles Mbiir placing third with 62 net.

Victor Brave-Mensah won the Professionals' category with 277 gross while E.K. Korblah and Vincent Torgah tied at the second position with 280 gross, with Paul Dosssey placing fourth with 287 gross. The two-day 36-Hole Scratch competition opened to amateur and professional golfers throughout the country was sponsored by Millicom Ghana Limited.

Mr Osei Bonsu Amoah, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sports who was a guest at the championship said the ministry would do everything possible to ensure that the sport is developed in the country.
