New Golf Magazine hits the market

Accra, June 17, GNA - The first ever magazine designed specifically for the promotion of golf in the country and within the West African sub-region termed "Golf Focus Magazine" will be officially launched on Thursday, June 19, 2008. The event which commences at 5:00 pm will be held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra.

Hon. Felix Owusu Agyapong, Minister of Energy, an avid golfer and immediate past president of the Tema Country Golf Club, will perform the official launching of the quarterly magazine. According to the publishers, Mediabiz Limited who are is an Advertising, Public Relations and Event Management company, the event is expected to bring both young and old golfers to the 'greens' of the Golden Tulip Hotel.

Mr Festus Owoo, President of Mediabiz said the introduction of the magazine is quite historic in the annals of the game in the sub-region since it is the first of its kind.

A statement issued and signed by Mr Owoo and copied to the GNA Sports said the magazine has come to stay in golf circles both in Ghana and beyond the boarders of the country. "It is not going to be a nine day wonder as had happened in many cases with well intended projects''. "Every aspect of the project has been well thought out to ensure its sustenance. "We are convinced that the 'Golf Focus Magazine' will help popularize the sport and demystify the notion that it is a game for a certain class of people". He stated. With already two editions on the stands, the magazine has been hailed by golfers as the most innovative thing that has happened to the game in Ghana.

The launching is under the sponsorship of Total Ghana Limited, Virgin Nigeria, Auto Parts Ghana Limited, Atlantis Structures, Fidelity Bank, Automated Technology, Royal Air Maroc, Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited, Beko Home Appliances and Executive Base.
