Nazareth wins Tigo Tema Open Golf

Tema, Sep. 8, GNA - David Nazareth returned a net score of 147 to win this year's Tigo Tema Open Golf Championship which ended at the Tema Country Golf Course on Sunday.

Ernest Opoku came second with 148 net, beating T.K Gouvinus on count-back while Frank Torgah took the fourth position with 149 net. Vivian Kuame came first in the Ladies encounter with 161 net, beating veteran Mona Captan on count-back, with Valentina Manteaw placing third with 173 net.

In the Juniors category, Nana Yeboah came first with 75 net, John Bentil took the second position with 84 net, while Christopher Mbii placed third with 85 net.

The Professionals event was won by Vincent Torgah with 276 gross, Victor Brave-Mensah came second with 284 gross, Stephen Klah placed third with 288 gross with Emos Koblah taking the fourth position with 289 gross, John Mawuli placed fifth with 292 gross while Baba Akologo was sixth with 295 gross.

The two-day Scratch event, opened to amateur and professional golfers throughout Ghana and West Africa, was sponsored by Millicom Ghana Limited.

Mr William Asiedu Yeboah, Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club praised the company for sponsoring the competition for the fifth time running.

He said management of the club would do everything possible to ensure that the sport was developed. Mr Tismark Inja, Board Chairman of Millicom Ghana Limited presented the prizes to the deserving winners.
