Lipton Bi-Monthly Medal Golf scheduled for Aug.29

Tema, Aug. 25, GNA - About 120 golfers would parade at the Tema Country Golf Course to compete for the second Lipton Bi-Monthly Open Golf Championship trophy scheduled for Saturday, August 29. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, General Manager of the Club told GNA Sports at Tema on Tuesday that the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition which is open to amateur golfers throughout the country would be sponsored by Unilever Ghana Limited.

He said the event, which would be played in accordance with the local rules of the Club, has Handicap 18 and 24 respectively as the entry requirements. Mr Adablanu said management had put in place a number of measures to ensure a keen and competitive event. Kweku Okyere, captain of the Club would lead the Tema team, which would include William Asiedu Yeboah, Alex Fiagomey, Felix Owusu-Adjapong and Pasul Owusu-Baah.

Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong, Florence Etwi-Barimah, Grace Afriyie and Esther Antwi would also battle each other for honours in the Ladies segment.

Five prizes would be awarded in the Men's category while three would be given out in the Ladies event. Officials of Unilever Ghana Limited are expected to grace the occasion
