Krunzu wins Celebrity Medal Golf

Tema, May 26, GNA - Kwame Krunzu returned a net score of 70 to win this month's Celebrity Golf Club Medal Open Championship played at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday.

Akwasi Opoku took the second position with a net score of 70, losing on count-back to Krunzu, while Theophilus Asampong placed third with a net score of 71.

Beatrice Harrington won the Ladies event with a net score of 72, while Juliette Tuakil placed second with a net score of 94. The 'Visitor's trophy category was won by George Asamoah with a net score of 71. William Ofori was second with 74 net, while Amoafo Yeboah came thirds with a net score of 78.

The one-day 18-Hole stable-ford competition opened to amateur golfers, attracted 100 participants.

Mr Yoofi Korsah, immediate past Captain of the Club, assisted Mrs Freda Tandoh, Co-Founder of the Celebrity Golf Club, to present the prizes to the winners.

The club will meet Tafo Golf Club in an Inter-Club Championship on Saturday, June 16 at Sakumono.
