Klompenburg and Bienda win Orange Invitational Golf

Accra, April 29, GNA - Philip Van Klompenburg and his partner, Bienda Tenk scored 22 points to win this year's Orange Invitational Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Sunday. The pair of Ruud Vulscher and Rose Bierkens took the second position with 20 points while Taco Van der Heyden, who was partnered by Ellen Lomans placed third with 18 points.

The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition opened to Dutch nationals in the country, formed part of activities marking the National Day celebration of Dutch which falls on April 30. More than 50 competitors took part in the event which was jointly sponsored by Guinness Breweries Ghana Limited, Nestle Ghana Limited, Golden Tulip Hotel, Interberton Constructions Ghana Limited, Wienco Ghana Limited and Shell Ghana Limited.

Mr Lawrence Anuseh, Retail Manager of Shell Ghana Limited praised the participants for making the event a memorable one and gave the assurance that his company would continue to support the event in the next years.

Meanwhile, the Abed At 50 Invitational Championship scheduled for the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono near Tema has been postponed indefinitely.
