Ghana’s first ever Minigolf League teed off to a promising start last Sunday at the Marvels Sports Club in Accra.
The League, which is being organized by the Ghana Minigolf Federation, began with the Singles competition and saw players made up of both amateurs and professional Golfers engage in a keen contest played over 18 holes of stroke play, with each player playing a total of two games.
At the end of the First Round, 40 qualified to the next stage of the League which will come off this Sunday.

Over forty golfers competed for a slot each in the final 24 and then represent Ghana at the world cup series in Europe this year alongside the Doubles Competition.

Though a relatively new sport in the country, it was one great spectacle, as players, both new and old, all put up tremendous display, exhibiting commendable putting skills.

President of the Ghana Minigolf Federation, Talal Fattal, evidently pleased with the Event’s turn out, praised the players and patrons for giving the League what he described as a “great start”.
“With such encouraging demonstration of love and commitment to the game today, I have no doubt in the success of this League and growth of the entire sport in the country”, Mr. Fattal said.

The overall winner will receive a fully paid trip to represent Ghana at the World Cup series in Europe.
The next round of the League will be this Sunday at the Marvels Sports Club at Dzorwulu in Accra from 11am.
