Ghana Ladies Open in Kumasi

Accra, Oct. 29. GNA--The Fourth Annual Ghana Ladies Open Golf championship will tee off at the Kumasi Golf Course on Saturday November One and ends on Sunday, November Two.

Mrs Elizabeth Ezan, President of the Ghana Ladies Golf Union (GLGU) who announced this in Accra on Tuesday, said the two-day 36-hole competition will be open to lady golfers throughout the country. The event will be sponsored by Vanguard Assurance Company Limited. She said the event dubbed "Peace for us all through golf" will be played in both the Scratch, the Handicap and in the Juniors category.

Mrs Ezan said special award would be presented to ladies who have played the game for more than 30 years.

Mona Captan of Achimota Golf Club would be defending the trophy she won last year.

Nana Awuah Darko Ampem, Board Chairman of Vanguard Assurance Company Limited is the Guest of Honour. Achimota Golf Club would also hold their November Monthly Medal on Sunday, November two.
