Bok Nam Kim Memorial Golf on April 26

Tema, April 17, GNA - The 2008 edition of the Bok Nam Kim Memorial Open Golf Championship will tee off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, April 26.

About 200 amateur and professional golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole competition which is being sponsored by Afko Group of Companies. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the Tema Country Golf Club, told GNA Sports at Tema on Thursday that the competition is to be played in memory of Mr Bok Nam Kim, former Chief Executive Officer of Afko Group of Companies who single-handedly sponsored Ghana's contingent to the 1998 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea.

Mr Kim, a keen sports enthusiast, until his death in 1999, was the President of the Tema Country Golf Club. Among the seasoned golfers who are likely to be seen in action include William Asiedu Yeboah, Kofi Gyau and Alex Fiagomey, all of Tema Country Golf Club. The Achimota team to be led by their captain, Bob Evans would include Mike Ezan, President of the Club, Vice Captain, Mike Aggrey, Charles Tabi, Wisdom Asempa, Dan Dennis and E. M. Kwame. Mrs Y.O. Kim, Chief Executive of Afko Group of Companies is expected to grace the occasion.
