Ampofo wins Celebrity Medal Golf

Tema, June 25, GNA - Joseph Ampofo returned a net score of 67 to win the Celebrity Golf Club June Medal Open Championship played at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday.

Akwasi Opoku placed second with 69 net with Ekow Dsane-Selby taking the third position with 71 net.

In the Ladies category, Aileen Conteh came first with 89 net while Jeannette Tuakli placed second with 91 net.

The One-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition, which was opened to amateur golfers from Tema, Achimota, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs, was sponsored by the Celebrity Golf Club. Mr Akwasi Opoku, Competition Secretary of the Celebrity Golf Club, commended the participants for exhibiting good sportsmanship throughout the competition.

He said management of the Club would do everything possible to ensure that the Golf Course is developed to meet international standards.

The July Medal Open will be held on Saturday, July 28.
