Achimota Golf Medal on Saturday

Accra, July 10, GNA-The July Medal Championship of the Achimota Golf Club tees off on Saturday, July 15.

About 100 amateur and professional golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play event. Mr Kwame Saarah-Mensah, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club told GNA Sports in Accra on Monday, that the event, even though a club affair, invitation has been extended to sister golf clubs in the Greater Accra Region.

This, he said, would enable them to sharpen up their strokes for a major competition.

The event, he said, is being sponsored by the Achimota Golf Club and shall be played under the local rules of the club. According to Mr Saarah-Mensah, the club has put very attractive prizes at stake and advised participants to be punctual for the competition.

He advised golfers who register for competitions but fails to turn up to desist from such practice since the club would take stringent action against them in future. 10 July 06
