Achimota Golf Captain's Prize Championship on Dec. 13

Accra, Dec. 8, GNA-The Achimota Golf Club Captain's Prize Championship tees off at Achimota in Accra on Saturday, December 13. Mr. Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club, who announced this in Accra on Monday, said about 150 amateur golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18 Hole Stable-ford competition.

He said the event, which shall be played under the rules of the Ghana Golf Association, was being sponsored by Mr Robert H. Evans, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club. Mr Oteng-Aboagye named some of the golfers expected to be seen in action as Mike Aggrey, Charles Tabi, Paul List, T.K. Gouvinus, Michael Ben-George, Paul Owusu-Baah, Rene Kwame, Daniel List, Mike Ezan, Matthias Dorfe and S.K. Klah, all of the Achimota Golf Club. The Ladies section would also witness a stiff opposition from Mona Myles-Lamptey, Clara Price, Essie Cobbina, Suzie Abaloo-Kumassah, Maria Ben-George and Leticia Amponsah-Mensah.

Five prizes would be awarded in the Men's category while three would be given in the Ladies segment. There would be prizes for the 'Longest Drive on Hole 18' and the 'Nearest to the Pin on Hole 17'.

Meanwhile, Takoradi Golf Club would also host their Captain's Prize competition on Friday, December 12. The event, which is expected to attract over 60 golfers, is being sponsored by Reverend Lee Mensah, Captain of the club.
