Abed Invitational Golf at Sakumono

Tema, April 23, GNA-The Abed At 50 Invitational Golf Championship tees off at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday, May 5. Mr Ato Enndman, Club Manager of the Celebrity Golf Club, who announced this at Tema on Monday, said amateur golfers from Celebrity, Achimota and Tema have been invited to participate in the competition being sponsored by Mr Abed Botchwey, a Senior Member of the Celebrity Golf Club.

It also forms part of activities marking the 50th anniversary celebrations of Ghana's Independence.

Mr Enndman said the event, which shall be played under the local rules of the club, has Handicap 18 as the entry requirement for the Men while the Ladies qualification is Handicap 24.

He named some of the golfers who will be battling each other for the giant trophy at stake as Joe Ohemeng, Captain of the club, Abdul-Aziz Amankwaah, the April Medal Champion and Theodore Asampong. Five prizes will be awarded in the Men's event while three will go to the Ladies. Tee-off is at 0600 hours. 23 April 07
