Rawlings may be controversial but we need him

No one ever thought Nana Addo will even get a handshake from our founder Flt.-LT.(Rtd) Jerry John Rawlings but in politics, it's very true there are no permanent friends and enemies....

Nana Addo as a foreign affairs minister and Attorney General only sought to destroy the Rawlingses.

But when he needed power in 2016 he realised the importance of the Rawlings factor in our politics, went to him on his knees and apologized for all his sins against him and as a true Catholic, Rawlings forgave him.

My question is, if Chairman Rawlings and Nana Konadu were able to forgive Nana Addo, then will forgiving their own children be a suicidal mission to embark on?

Sit with Chairman Rawlings for just five minutes, you will realize he has every reason to be bitter and angry with his own Children. General Mosquito once said, if you have a house with tenants and the tenants turn deviants, you don't leave the house as a Landlord but stay and develop means to rehabitate the tenants.

We really need our Rawlings back to hit the Road and if possible his wife, our mother who is that soft button that needed to be pressed. People may see this as an impossible mission but I see possibilities and prospects in it.

Lots of people will disagree with me especially those who think we won 2012 without him so we can do same in 2020, which I personally think is a lie because the circumstances of 2012 are different from 2020. Prof. Mills’ sympathy votes will not be extended to 2020.

Others are also with the notion that, Rawlings is not a Demi god so what if (God forbid) he passes on, but they have forgotten he is still alive and making impacts.

This man used his blood to sign our constitution hence he holds the key to open the door of 2020 for us. We need to do everything possible to get the Rawlingses back for a victorious 2020. We need his blessings.

Lot's of people said they are fed up with the Rawlingses and I always say then we are also fed up with power. If you want power, you look for those who have power to help you get power.

They have the power already and Chairman Rawlings has nothing to gain or lose in our politics because he has seen and tasted it all. We need to continue knocking on his doors till he opens it for us. We said we are embarking on a #RescueMission, we can't embark on this journey without our well experienced Generals, I strongly think something must be done as soon as possible to get Chairman Rawlings on board.

He is human with blood and flesh, just as I said his soft spot needs to be touched to get him on board.

I see 2020 as a very difficult journey with lots of prospects and a beautiful end for NDC but without our experienced Generals, the journey will be scary and the party will fall in the hands of the invisible agenda 2024 people that Chairman Rawlings spoke about in Kumasi.

The Youth needs power and need it badly. The people of Ghana cannot afford another four years of being quarantined under this coronavirus regime of a government. Let's do the Right thing by taking the bitter pill today to get best results tomorrow.

I am not in anyway saying only Chairman Rawlings will give us power, Never! It will take the contributions of all of us, You and I, plus the neutrals and if complimented by the Charisma of our Founder and flag bearers the road will by then be clear for us.

Once Again it may seem to be fruitless and impossible journey but let's continue to knock till he is fed up and left with the option of giving in and getting on board.

Victory awaits us, Let's fold our shirts, make ourselves dirty and embrace it.
