...Of nepotism in Ghana's politics and the hypocrisy of the NDC

File Photo File Photo

It is often ironic to see how deceit, hypocrisy, inconsistency, and lies have characterized our body politics in this country. Due to desperation for power, and frustration from the 2016 humiliating defeat, the NDC, has resorted to fallacious means just to cause public disaffection to the rather performing and competent NPP administration.

It is therefore not surprising that after being heavily exposed to the "Alibaba bus fiasco" they quickly moved on to suggest malfeasance at GNPC which couldn't also last for 24hrs just as darkness cannot stand light.

The next we saw from them (NDC) was a communique, virtually begging Ghanaians for ideas to help develop a proposal for their 2020 manifesto. Is it not surprising, that after setting up a 21 member national Manifesto committee with sub-regional committees, the NDC couldn't come up with a single message to present to Ghanaians? Could it be the case that there are bereft of ideas, or they're dazed by the sterling performance of the Akufo-Addo government within this short period of time?. Your guess may be as good as mine

..... now to the issue of a supposed nepotism and family and friends governance. Just as rightfully captured in the opening paragraph, the ndc out of desperation and as a means to cover their shameful conduct of engaging in a "lalasulala manifesto", decided to blow hot air on a non or less important issue.

Now let's consider the following and see if indeed the NDC, which is requesting for equity, has its hands full or empty...

1. Victor Smith is a brother of Brigadier Joseph Smith. They both benefited from a friend's n family government under JM as Ambassador n high commissioner to UK & USA respectively.

2. Lawyer Tony Lithur(personal lawyer of former president John Mahama) was appointed, the board chairman of Ghana Airport company, while his wife Nana Oye Lithur was Minister, Gender Children & Social Protection.

3. Joyce Bawah Mogtari was appointed deputy minister for transport and his husband HUDU MOGTARI was FDA BOSS.

4. Dzifa Gomashie, served as a deputy minister of tourism while her husband Brigadier General Ahiaglo was the National Lottery Authority boss.

5. Lee Ocran was board chairman of VRA, his wife Sati Ocran was board member SSNIT.

6. The AHWOI BROTHERS!!

Ato Ahwoi, board chairman of Ghana infrastructure Fund, Kwesi Ahwoi was Ghana high commissioner to South Africa, Kwamina Ahwoi, was board chairman of Revenue Agency board..his wife was a board member of BOST.

7. The late, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur was vice president of Ghana..his brother, Jabesh Amissah Arthur was CEO, BUI POWER AUTHORITY.

8. Alfred Mahama is an elderly brother of John Dramani Mahama...he was a national security operative.

Ibrahim Mahama is a younger brother to JM..he was a smokescreen no.1 contractor in JM's administration and was gifted, 76% of Ghana's bauxite deposits worth over $200bn just a week to exiting power.

_Just to mention a few_

It is therefore preposterous, disingenuous and shifty on the part of the NDC, to describe the NPP government as nepotistic. this move is obviously intended to cover up for their inability to formulate alternative policies and programs for the good people of Ghana

In conclusion, I would like to urge all well-meaning Ghanaians, to disregard the usual rants of the NDC, all call for a policy-based politics which will help develop our dear nation.
