It's amazing that on Ghanaweb when someone contributes such a positive argument no one comments. Thanks so much for all the positive contributions you have done in providing education to those who cannot afford and addressing the deputy Minister of Education. I just hope he reads this and is not just fanning his ego.

You can do better, Mr. James Kofi Annan, for a writeup that is short on reasoning and precedent but full of innuendos. Does the GES has a formal complaint form or process? Does the GES have a website, offices or telephone number(s) where anonymous tips or complaints can be logged formally?
Let me give you my two cents if you don't mind. We're not serious and have not been honest or principled in Ghana for some time perhaps since 1966. We have not developed uniformly because we accept any garbage, more so if the fad comes from those who claim to have lived, worked or travel to foreign nations. What has practices in the USA, UK, Canada and elsewhere have to do with Ghana? Practices in those nation are functional, effective and mostly successful because institutions with oversight authority are respected by citizens and are backed by laws. Why would you, Mr. Annan, talk about due process if you believe there were two investigations? Are you implying the two agencies that conducted the investigations do not have ovetsight jurisdiction? Secondly you did not provide any information along with proof you have logged official complaints with GES for all the charges or fees you paid for your wards. Do you and others, especially the NPP live such unprincipled and shallow lives that you think conjuring up the name of USA, UK and others should frighten every Ghanaian? If we live in Ghana but cannot accept anything in Ghana unless backed by nonexistent organizations in the USA or UK then we show ourselves to be nonthinking creatures who have come to occupy Ghana since Nkrumah left the scene. Due process does not mean government cannot terminate the employment of workers; the courts are still open for those who feel wronged to go seek redress. Get off the let's bash the current government train because Nana Akufo-Addo is not going to be the salvation every idiot thinks. We are going to rearrange the corruption chairs to be occupied by Nana Akufo-Addo and his Kyebi mafia instead of Mahama and his band of amateur thieves. Did we not move out Kufour's arrogant band of thieves to usher in the Atta-Mills/Mahama band? Any Ghanaian who thinks there's an ounce of relief coming their way with a Nana Akufo-Addo NPP administration is just as ignorant yesterday as they are going to be after the elections. Nana Akufo-Addo did not exhaust all his savings and the coffers of the NPP because he wants to play by the rules. How is he going to fill the NPP coffers? How are his appointees going to get rich? Any moron who believes in a good NPP or NDC should come to my auction at Kaneshie where I will be selling off an island near North Kanashie. My American experts found gold deposits with the potential worth of 3 trillion dollars. How about that Mr. Annan?

I agree with you that the writer should have been telling us the actual complaints he made to the actual institutions concerned and the outcomes of such. Instead, he is complaining to us, perhaps hoping that we rather should lodge the complaints on his behalf.
And it does seem to be a bashing of government thing even if he didn't mention names.
And I also agree with you that a change of government will just replace one band of thieves with another one. Indeed, it will be worse because the NPP is made up of very clever thieves good at hiding their tracks with "Mahama and his band of amateur thieves" (well put there...).
But did you have to make all these points by calling people idiots?

You Really dont make any sense. Nana Addo cannot make manna fall from heaven in Ghana just like it doesn't in the US or UK. Every govt steals. There were people in George bush's govt who benefited enormously from the Iraq war. The fact is if every govt adds one brick n mortar and does not destroy the brick added by his predecessor like wat this govt has done we won't be where we are today. Nana Addo s govt will have thieves by all means but by the time they leave growth rate won't be < 3%. And that's wat we want in any a new govt.
You sound like a low self esteem African who believes nothing is ever going to change here but u are entitled to it. Depends on where you are coming from..

Thank you very much Mr Annan for your philanthropy which has reached many ears, especially your Challenging Heights Project at Sankor in Winneba which cares for slave children from Yeji and the Winneba fishing community. I am aware you partnered with some USA and Israeli NGOs to help lift these vulnerable kids out of poverty. Mr Annan, do not place much hope in this Mahama and NDC-led government of lowbrow leaders who enjoy the plaudits and talking promises from the rooftops to hoodwink the poor masses. Most Ghanaiansare poor, vulnerable and gullible so our so-called leaders seek applause from one-off tokenism and symbolism. Are they leaders or dealers or cheats? Go to Lagos and see how beautiful one enlightened lawyer-leader Governor has transformed the place. NDC is a failed government and we should sack them. We are going nowhere with these failed leaders. We are tired of their million promises which never get delivered. If delivered, it is selectively biased in favour of Northerners or close relatives or party cadres. Is this what Nkrumah's vision was?
