Of What Value is your “Trust,” General Mosquito?

I sincerely don’t think that anybody, least of all an impudent reprobate and a scummy politician like Mr. Johnson Asiedu-Nketia, the globally notorious cross-dresser, can accuse Nana Akufo-Addo of peddling mendacity (See “Asiedu-Nketia: I’ve Lost All Trust in Akufo-Addo” Class-Fm/Ghanaweb.com 10/21/15). The foregoing reference, of course, is in regard to the vehemently denied allegation that President John Dramani Mahama caused to be printed some “Presidential Diaries” valued at a whopping $10 million. The fact of the matter is that the onus of proof rests with the Chief Resident of the Flagstaff House and the key operatives at the headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), so-called.

Indeed, if, as Messrs. Asiedu-Nketia, Dogbe, Apaak and Kwakye-Ofosu have insisted, the cost of printing the “Presidential Diaries” was well below the $10 million reported by Ghana’s foremost opposition politician, then at least these Mahama hangers-on have a bounden obligation to tell Ghanaians the exact amount involved. This is because even as I hinted in a previous article a couple, or so, days ago, the image of the presidency as a marketing tool, as publicly related by these highly placed NDC operatives, belongs to the sovereign people of Ghana. Consequently, their prolonged failure to divulge the real figures involved in the printing of the “Presidential Diaries,” assuming that Akufo-Addo was grossly mistaken, makes Mr. Asiedu-Nketia and his minions seem like some bitterly upset high school boys caught with their pants down.

In other words, these Mahama shills clearly appear to be far more embarrassed than they are annoyed or even outraged by Nana Akufo-Addo’s apt, bold and admirable decision to expose them for their scam-artistry. After all, these NDC party machinists are globally notorious for never once having owned up to the truth of their perennial and pathological scamming of the Ghanaian people. I also don’t know that any of these veritable political parasites have any high or enviable premium on credibility, especially in the case of Mr. Asiedu-Nketia (aka General Mosquito) for the 2016 New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate to worry about. After all, didn’t we all witness the NDC General-Secretary’s unconscionable collaboration with then-CEO Mr. Jabesh Amissah-Arthur, the younger brother of Vice-President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, in the scandalous and unethical use of Mr. Asiedu-Nketia’s brick-making company to scam the Ghanaian taxpayer to the tune of hundreds of thousands of cedis in the Bui Dam Affair?

It is equally comical for Mr. Asiedu-Nketia to cavalierly presume to impugn the credibility of Nana Akufo-Addo vis-à-vis the highly likely rigging of the 2016 election by President Mahama and his Abongo Boys, in view of the fact that it was the same General Mosquito who publicly declared on a talk-radio program that, indeed, it was Akufo-Addo who won that presidential poll. Back then, according to General Mosquito, the bizarre declaration of then-Transitional President John Mahama as winner of Election 2012 was squarely due to the scandalous and abject lack of vigilance on the part of the New Patriotic Party’s polling agents and other party operatives. And so now who is the real liar here?
